Core Beliefs
The following are the core beliefs of Christ Tabernacle based on the foundational truths taught in the bible. All of our teaching and ministry is rooted in these biblical doctrines.
Our God
We believe in One eternally existing God who created all things. God has revealed Himself to us as our Father, in His Son Jesus Christ, and as the Holy Spirit, with distinct attributes but without division of nature, essence, or being. Jesus Christ is God displayed in flesh. He is both God and man. God is perfect in love, power, holiness, goodness, knowledge, wisdom, justice, and mercy.
The Bible
The Bible is our rule of faith and life. We work to conform everything we say and do to a Christ-centered and Spirit-led interpretation of scripture. We believe the Bible is the inspired Word of God, written by the hands of men, by the direct guidance of the Holy Spirit. We accept it as our infallible guide in matters pertaining to conduct and doctrine. It is accurate, authoritative and applicable to our everyday lives.
Salvation
Believing in Jesus Christ as both Lord and Savior is the only way to be saved from the penalty of sin. This is due to the fact that he lived a sinless life and willingly paid our penalty with his death on the cross. We appropriate the gift of salvation through faith by His grace. It is necessary for all to born again.
Water Baptism
We believe that our faith in the Lord Jesus Christ is expressed by calling on His Name in the waters of baptism. Water baptism is an act of obedience identifying with Jesus in death to sin, burial of the old nature, and resurrection to new life. We are baptized in Jesus name for the remission of our sins.
The Holy Spirit
We believe that the Holy Spirit is the Spirit of God and Christ who comes to lead and dwell within believers to bring regeneration, sanctification and empowerment. The Holy Spirit leads us to faith and subsequently fills us with supernatural empowerment. The evidence for the infilling of the Holy Spirit is accompanied by a supernatural prayer language and spiritual fruit in the life of the believer. We believe the gifts of the Holy Spirit are still in operation today in the life of the church.
The Church
We believe that the church is Christ’s body in the earth made of those who are born again. Every member has a distinct role to play in the kingdom of God and those gifts are to be at work in the local church. The church is to pursue holiness and sanctification as we reflect Jesus to the world.
The Second Coming
We believe in the bodily, personal, second coming and millennial reign of the Lord Jesus Christ, the resurrection of the saints, and the final judgment. The final judgment will determine the eternal status of both the saints and the unbelievers, determined by their relationship to Jesus Christ.
